My parents and I own a holiday park in the south west of England, and for once last year, we had a good year. It’s been pretty tough for a few years now, but last year we were fully booked for months! It didn’t mean that we were rolling in money however, but it did mean that we would have a chance to reinvest a bit of money into the place, which was absolutely essential. Over the last few years we just hadn’t had the money to be able to improve anything in the place, and some areas were looking a bit tatty.
One of the worst offenders was the nightclub. It was a tiny little thing really, not much more than an extension of the main bar, but it was a great thing to draw people to the site. I knew that over the off season I would have to revamp it though. We started by putting in fresh flooring and painted from floor to ceiling too. On top of this I wanted to get a few games machines in there to make the place a bit more fun and maybe bring a bit more cash in.
I had a look online and I managed to find a couple of racing games which were pretty cheap to buy, but then my eye fell on a punching machine! I could really see people going for this, so I got it in straight away. Just as I thought, the teenagers absolutely lapped it up, and it’s the best thing I’ve bought for the place in the last ten years!
